Option 1

Step 1: Enter cmd in the search box and click the best match one to continue.
Step 2: Enter rstrui.exe in the Command Prompt window and then press Enter to continue.
Step 3: Click Next to choose an available restore point at first and then click Next to continue.
Step 4: Click Finish and Yes to perform a factory reset Command Prompt.

Then we just need to wait for the computer to finish the factory reset. And after the process is completed, we can run our PCs normally.

Option 2

There is another command we can use to perform the factory reset.

Enter system reset –factory reset in the Command Prompt window and press the Enter. Then we will make a choice to do a factory reset.

Note: If Windows 10 cannot load normally, then boot into WinRE and choose Command Prompt to continue

Other Ways to Perform the Factory Reset

Besides, using Command Prompt to perform the factory reset, there are another two methods we can adopt to perform the factory reset. One is to use the features that come with Windows – Reset this PC and another one is to refresh Windows with Windows ISO file.

Reset This PC

The Reset this PC feature is a built-in feature of Windows 10, which can help us reset the computers. Besides, it offers us an option to keep our files before resetting the computers, which can prevent us from losing files.

The way to reset this PC is shown below:
Step 1: Click Update & Security on the Settings page to continue.
Step 2: Click Recovery in the left panel and click Get Started under Reset this PC section to continue.

Step 3: Make a choice to reset this PC.

Step 4: Read the subsequent onscreen messages and click Reset.
When the computer has finished the process, then our computers can go back to the previous state.

Windows 10 ISO Image File

Using Windows 10 ISO image file to perform the factory reset is a much better choice because we can choose to keep our files and programs, but we need to download the Windows 10 ISO image file before proceeding (we can jump this step if we have a Windows 10 ISO image file).

Step 1: Find the location of the Windows 10 ISO file, then double-click it to continue.
Step 2: Double-click setup in the pop-out window, and then click Yes to continue.

Step 3: If our computers are connected to the internet, we can choose Download and install updates (recommended) and then click Next to continue.


Step 4: Wait for a short time to check for updates, and then click Accept when we see the License terms to continue.
Step 5: Wait for the computer to check for updates and make sure we are ready to install it.
Step 6: When the Ready to install screen appears, click Change what to keep to change the things we want to keep. Then click Next and Install.

After these operations have been done step by step, then we just need to wait for the computer to restart.
